Tips To Cleaning Your Custom Design Shirts

By Rob Sutter

Congratulations, you just got your hands on the best custom design shirts and you are ready to use them. You want them to be utilized for the long term, of course, and taking care of them is probably going to be one of the first things that springs to your mind. That being said, how can you carefully clean these shirts so that they are able to hold up well? There are many aspects to keep in mind but here are some tips that may be helpful to you.

If there's one thing that I was able to pick up on as a fan of these shirts, it's that cold water is typically best. Hot water oftentimes becomes too much for the fabric, meaning that it stands a greater chance of wearing away. This is unfortunate but sometimes you have to sacrifice the idea of temperature if you want to keep your shirts at the greatest level of quality imaginable. If you keep this in mind, then you will be able to benefit in the long run.

When you're in the washing process itself, think about turning your shirts inside out. This is especially true for those that have been treated with prints, seeing as how ink can often be compromised thanks to a litany of washing elements. With these turned inside out, though, at least there is more of a chance that they will hold up much better in time. Make sure that you keep this aspect in mind if you value the longevity that these articles of clothing can possess.

Detergent may be good for some products but it may not be the best for these particular tops. Keep in mind that custom design shirts have prints on them and different kinds of items can potentially make them fade. Detergent is one such substance to consider, so think about utilizing other means of removing stains that are much easier on not only the ink but the fabric of the shirt in general. This is recommended by a number of authorities, East End Screen Printing included.

Don't some of these rules seem like the ones that you'd follow anyway, though? They seem to be the ones that you'd follow for just about any cleaning regimen. However, there is always going to be someone who never washed his or her own clothes before and in this case it's easier for them to learn, especially if custom design shirts are part of these wardrobes. If you follow these steps, then you'll start to see how much better your shirts hold up over the course of time.
