Important Details Concerning Sun Tan Lotions

By Haywood Hunter

Indoor tanning creams or sunblock may be considered forms of sun tan lotions, despite having alternative uses. Sunblock, which may also be called sunscreen, is made with the intention of blocking UV radiation from sun. Indoor tanning products are used along with sunbeds and other tanning devices to give skin a tan appearance.

Many ingredients can go into tanning creams. Usually they include melanin and L-Tyrosine. Tea extracts, oils and copper may be included as well. Some products offer moisturizing and bronzing elements. These formulas are made for indoor use and artificial UV light present in sunbeds, not for the outdoors because they do not contain ingredients that protect against natural UV light.

These tanning creams increase the melanin in skin. This may be done in one of two ways. Melanin production boosted, or blood circulation increased. The creams are typically used with tanning booths and other similar devices.

Sunblock is made for use outside. It is a formula used to reflect or absorb UV radiation. It is also designed to prevent the occurrence of sunburn, which is caused by prolonged exposure to UV light. Sunscreen is made in a variety of forms. For example, lotion, spray and gel.

Inorganic particulates, chemical compounds and organic particulates are usually found in sunscreen. This product is either physical or chemical. Physical meaning that is able to reflect sunlight. Chemical meaning it is able to absorb sunlight. Using sunscreen is recommended because it can prevent skin afflictions that are correlated with exposure to the sun, such as sunburn or more serious problems such as skin cancer.

Sun tan lotions is a term applied to products such as sunscreen or tanning lotion. Sunscreen protects skin from the effects caused by UV radiation from sun. Tanning lotion works with indoor tanning methods to bronze, moisturize and tan skin.
