Time For Some Action?

By Al Duncan

"Do not waste time idling or thinking after you have set your goals."

Those are the words of Japan's greatest swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi. When I first read that quote in the Book of Five Rings, it really hit home with me because I know far that too many people waste time idling after setting their goals.

The reasons that people procrastinate after setting their goals are too numerous to list in a short article like this. But those reasons include things like fear of failure and old-fashioned laziness. There is one thing that can serve as a cure for those two reasons (and many others): Action. Right action.

Duncan Nugget(R) #6: Consistent RIGHT action leads to many profitable transactions.

Setting goals.

Setting goals. Check.

Visualizing your goals.

Those are all good things, but of course it's really all about taking action on your goals.

Action. *Silence*

The thing to be mindful of is that, for most people, after the setting, writing, and visualizing, they don't take enough of the right actions.

"Action. It's always your next move." I recently saw a poster with that phrase on it. The saying is attributed to Napoleon Hill. Although it is more than likely paraphrased (I looked through all of my Napoleon Hill material and couldn't find an exact match), the message is powerful.

According to the poster, those are the words of Napoleon Hill. I looked through all of my Napoleon Hill material and couldn't find an exact match so, more than likely, it's paraphrased. Yet and still the message is powerful.

So, find a goal you've been meaning to get to and get on it. Create an ACTION plan. In writing. It has to be in writing. It doesn't matter what medium you use--paper or digital--you gotta write. Then get started on the very next next thing that you can do to put yourself on the path to achieve your goals.

This is such a simple thing. Maybe that's why it's so difficult for many people. It's simple to do and simple not to do. So, remember, as soon as you start taking action, you are on the path to achieving your goals.

Maybe you have a goal that you've already been working on. That's awesome. Keep it going. Make sure you remain focused on your action steps. Keep in mind that it might be a good time to start developing an action plan for your next goal.

Whether it's your past, current, or future goals, it's time for some action!

Right action.
