Baby Room Wallpaper And Murals

By Darren Hartley

Available in many different types, each type of baby room wallpaper has its own benefits and drawbacks. Carefulness must be exercised by parents in the selection of the wallpaper that will work best for their nursery. While some wallpapers are easy to clean, others are easy to strip. Parents normally select the wallpapers that last for the longest period of time.

Vinyl coated baby room wallpaper incorporates a paper substrate in which the design or decorative surface is coated over with polyvinyl chloride aka PVC or acrylic vinyl. They can withstand excess moisture and grease and are easy to clean. They are also strippable or easily removable from the walls.

Coated fabric baby room wallpaper uses a fabric substrate instead of a paper substrate. The design or decorative surface is coated over the fabric substrate with liquid PVC or acrylic vinyl. They are more breathable than other wallpaper types. However, they do not work well in rooms with a lot of moisture. They can be used for nurseries that do not frequently use a humidifier. They are washable but not scrubbable.

Baby room murals are the ultimate way of beginning the decoration of a nursery. The results are unique, fun and fantastic. They are inexpensive but viewers might think parents hired an artist to create them. More importantly, they can suit the theme parents have in mind for the wall decoration of their nursery.

As he changes age and interests, the relevance to the baby must be a consideration in the selection of a baby room mural. Coming highly recommended is an outdoor scene depicting either a simple tree or a countryside scene with blue skies, grass and trees.

Working with a variety of themes is easily handled with this type of baby room mural. By simply changing the wall hangings, toss pillows and accessories around it, a baby girl can be taken through such themes as princess and castles, horses, butterflies, flowers and a cottage garden. In the same manner, a baby boy can transition through themes involving farm animals, transportation, knights and castles, fishing and camping.
