Tips On How Apply Los Angeles Vinyl Coating Paints On Walls

By Raymond Scott

Painting a concrete wall makes it appealing to the eye and makes it to mix well with the surrounding decals. Some factors need to be addressed first before you start painting the standards with Los Angeles Vinyl coating. Some of these features include the type of liquid vinyl you intend to apply, the level of moisture and availability of a primer.

Choose a paint that suits your project. Vinyl coating paints are resistance to moisture and sun rays and are therefore recommended for the painting. Also, pick a paint for you indoor paint job. The basement can be painted using the basement concrete paint which is available in a home improvement store in whichever part of Los Angeles CA you are in.

Rid the wall of any dirt or dust. For the exterior use a strong detergent to lift all the dirt. Having a clean surface will ensure that the paint sticks to the surface. For the interior, instead of using a power washer, simply use a scrubbing towel and water mixed with soap and wipe off dirt. The interior standards are relatively cleaner.

To ensure neatness, look for any cracks or holes on the surface. In case of blemishes, carry out repairs using a concrete cover. Prepare a concrete mixture according to the directions. With the use of a trowel, fill up the cracks with the patching mixture and then smoothen it. Concrete that may have dried on the surface make it rough. Remove them to restore the smoothness.

Check the wall for moisture. Vinyl coating paint applied to a surface that is clammy will not adhere properly to it. To seal off moisture, tape a plastic to it. Try to make the plastic as air tight as possible. To test for the presence of moisture, leave the plastic sheet for a day. If there will be no moisture, then the paint can be applied.

First, paint the wall with a primer coating. Use the appropriate equipment to paint so as to do a neat job. The stroking pattern does not matter but it is the even distribution of the primer that matters. Leave the layer undisturbed for a day to dry. If the surface will still be visible through the layer of primer, apply another layer until it is covered.

After the primer is dry apply the vinyl coat on the wall. This time, apply three layers of this paint. Its application can be done using different approaches. It can be sprayed on, rolled or by use of a brush. The paint should be even and the strokes from the brush bristles should not be visible.

Apply a sealing coat. You should apply this in double layers but ensure you allow an interval drying time between the layers. This means that you paint the second layer after the first has dried. This coat holds the paint to the wall for long enough. Vinyl paints improve the appearance of structure despite making it look attractive.
