If you are using an internet retailer it is advisable to send them an email or call them before you place an order to ensure that the motor you are ordering is going to be suitable for your vehicle.

If the company does not have a suitable engine in stock they will ask you to send in your engine for them to refurbish. Their team of engineers will carry out all of the necessary work needed to get it running and then send it back for fitting. A lot of the companies will offer a service where they can collect your vehicle, rebuild the engine and get the car delivered back to your home.

If you need to send your unit away to be refurbished you will require the services of a courier firm and there are some things to think about. The price you will be charged for shipping a car engine is going to be costly due to the weight. It should be noted that the motor should be safely and correctly packaged for the journey and covered by goods in transit insurance.

Most of the companies who remanufacture motors will offer a guarantee on the product. Some may offer a one year warranty and others a 12,000 mile guarantee against failures.
