San Diego Chiropractor Reveals Quick Chiropractic Headache Correction

By Mike Pritsker

If you or a loved one suffers from headaches, and are in desperate need of the possible solution, I highly recommend reading the rest of this article about new San Diego chiropractic care. There's a safe and effective treatment for what some estimate to be up to 90% of headaches. It's been around for 108 years and has absolutely nothing to do with drugs or surgery.

A study in the Journal of American Medical Association indicated that Americans now visit alternative care providers nearly twice as often as traditional physicians, and the numbers are growing. The results are not that shocking considering they have been around for so long. Alternative treatment such as chiropractic have taken the lead in the treatment of many conditions.

In the year 1997, Americans spent an astonishing $27 billion on visits to alternative doctors such as chiropractors. This was an elevation of 45% over 1990. Most of this money was not reimbursed by insurance plans! This doesn't seem very alternative anymore as more people are using it. What is outrageous, however, is how long these treatments are often concealed, even in the presence of clear and convincing evidence. This breakthrough has already delivered nothing short of a phenomenon for countless headache sufferers and delivered results beyond their wildest dreams. These miracles could be happening for you too and get rid of your headaches.

A lot of the information is getting buried. I'm not saying there may be a conspiracy. This is just the way things work in the world. It's all about economics. For example, why don't you see the big oil companies running ads for electric cars? This is because there is no profit in electric cars for oil companies. It will actually take money right out of their pockets and reduce business. They would much rather see you keep driving that 80's gas-guzzler. For the same reason, you won't find billion dollar drug companies talking about the wonders of drugless miracles. It may not be fair, but it is good business for them. It's that simple. That's why you have to watch who you listen to and find out the real source of the information that you are getting. For example, hormone replacement therapy was the miracle cure-all for post-menopausal women. Now, after 30 years of use, it has been linked to an increase rate of breast cancer, stroke and heart disease.

So what about headaches? At least 50 million Americans see their doctors for headaches each year, and an unknown number simply treat head pain themselves. Two-thirds of headache sufferers remain undiagnosed. Headaches account for 8 million office visits each year. 9 out of 10 Americans suffer from headaches. 95% of headaches are primary headaches, such as tension, migraine, or cluster headaches. These types of headaches are not caused by disease. The headache itself is the primary concern. And nearly 90 percent of primary headaches are tension-type.

So, if every one of these headaches are tension-type, I bet you wonder what a tension-type headache really is. Tension-type headaches can be caused when not working spinal bones cause joint, nerve and muscle nuisance in your neck. The ache can take a trip from the top of your shoulders, up the back of your neck and into the head, sometimes forming a band-like pain around the skull. The largest majority of primary headaches are associated with muscle tension in the neck, says Dr. George B. McClelland, a doctor of chiropractic from Christiansburg, VA, and member of the American Chiropractic Association's (ACA) Board of Governors. Nowadays, Americans engage in more sedentary activities than they used to, and more hours are spent in one fixed position or posture. This can increase joint irritation and muscle tension in the neck, upper back and scalp, causing your head to ache. To help this most common headache there are a few things that need to be done.

A report released in 2001 by researchers at the Duke University Evidence-Based Practice Center in Durham, NC, found that spinal manipulation and adjustments resulted in almost immediate improvement for those headaches that originate in the neck. They had significantly fewer side effects and longer-lasting relief of tension-type headaches than a commonly prescribed medication. In addition, a 1995 study in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics found that spinal manipulative therapy is an effective treatment for tension headaches and that those who ceased chiropractic treatment after four weeks experienced a sustained therapeutic benefit in contrast with those patients who received a commonly prescribed medication.

So, if 90% of Americans suffer from headaches and 95% of headaches are primary headaches, and 90% of primary headaches are tension-type headaches, wouldn't it be smart to come in and get your neck evaluated by a properly trained chiropractor. When you really think about it, what're the chances you're not in the 90% that chiropractic can help? I bet you are. The most likely clarification for Chiropractic's huge results with headaches is that the adjustment gets to the reason of the headache by relieving the tension on the joint, muscle and nerve. Drugs may for the moment deaden some of the pain. In reality, they never actually repair the problem. It just worsens as time goes on. And I bet your headaches can be helped quickly and easily with specialized chiropractic care in San Diego.
