Why Weekly Movie Reviews Are So Popular

By Tara Daniels

Everybody loves movies. From young to old, male or female, even those who claim to be religious and stay away from vanities. Movies have been popular among the masses for years and will always be. This is partly why weekly movie reviews are so popular.

Both technology and the cinema industry are moving at a very fast pace. New films and special effects techniques are emerging as often as every week. Script writers are busy, production houses are moving from one project to the next. It is a continuous booming industry that will never cease to grow and have a following.

Audiences loved the classics from Jaws to Titanic to Avataar, and continue proving this love with soaring box office takings. With the advancements in film making, it is no wonder that people love them so much. The story lines get more intriguing, the special effects get more impressive and the actors become better at their art. New technology also adds to the fascination and exciting entertainment that makes feature films so popular.

Sneak previews to these wonderful moving pictures are extremely important because they give insight into it before viewing. Some people may enjoy taking risks and watching something they have no previous knowledge of. But most people prefer to know a little about a movie before seeing it. They may want to know who acts in it and a brief idea of what the story and genre is. This is important a person with a specific personality type will not want to watch horror, as an example.

Equally important are weekly movie reviews, as these allow the reader to hear what someone else thought of the film and thus aid their decision making process. Often written by professional critics, these reviews tell the reader what he or she can expect from the acting to all other aspects of the film. They provide an objective perspective and can prepare viewers for the best and worst parts of the viewing.

Those who go to the cinema regularly will know all about weekly write ups. They seek them out to find out what to expect from new releases. These reviews are freely accessible to all members of the public and are most often found in newspapers, magazines or entertainment websites.

The power of such reviews should never be underestimated. Good write ups get talked about among family and friends and as a result leads to more viewers. Bad write ups can lead to the absolute failure of a film on the circuit by decreasing the desire in people to want to watch that particular feature.

Weekly movie reviews are and will always be an intricate part of the cinema industry. They carry or break films. They tell us what to expect and set us up for suspense and wonderful viewing. They tickle our anticipation and create hype which is good for promoters. Find them online or in local newspapers every week and be well informed the next time you buy your movie ticket.
