Choosing Restaurants For Weddings In Manhattan

By Allyson Burke

When a young couple are planning that most special of days in their lives together Evey little detail is important. While the big things such as choosing a minster, a venue for the ceremony and the perfect dress are obvious things to come to mind there is one that most people may not think about till. It is nearly too late. There are some major considerations that one needs to keep in mind when they are choosing restaurants for weddings in Manhattan.

One thing that you must keep in mind, and this cannot be stressed enough, is that you have to plan ahead. This is true anywhere but in the Big Apple its especially vital. The most popular venues for these type of events often are booked up to a year or more ahead of the needed date. If you cannot get the location that you dream of don't fret, there are a lot of hidden gems in the city that are wonderful venues for your dinner and are easily able to accommodate you with lesser notice.

A major advantage that you may find with booking ahead of time, in addition to having a better chance at getting the date you want, is that you may get a better rate for the rental or a better price on the menu. You may also be asked to provide a non-refundable deposit to secure your date. This is common and is in the best interest of the venue to provide your a guaranteed date slot.

If there is no party room, pay the extra to rent out the venue for the evening. It is very awkward for the guests to feel like they are on display for the other patrons of the restaurant while at your event. The extra cost is well worth the comfort and enjoyment of your loved ones in attendance.

Enquire as to whether you can provide your own music for your rehearsal dinner. The use of music that is special to the couple or to the families will make for a much more intimate and memorable evening. If they cannot allow for this, then ask if the music in the space could be turned off completely for your rental.

If the venue offers a catering menu then take advantage of that instead of letting your guests choose from the regular menu. This will help control the costs that you have for the event. If there is a bar on site ask if a drinks package can be included, or better have your guests pay for their own hard drinks and you cover the wine.

If you have chosen to go with a lesser known venue make sure that you give your guests good directions as well as clear information about parking. If they do not have parking on site, get a recommendation and see if you can get a group deal with the provider. Pay for it out of the wedding budget and send a parking pass with the invites to your guests. They will more than appreciate the gesture.

Choosing restaurants for weddings in Manhattan is one of the most important aspects of setting up your wedding events. This can be an easy choice though if you give a little thought and planning to the task. Its important to remember that you should plan ahead as far as you can and be willing to compromise on locations.
