Tattoo Placement Suggestions

By Abram Vanorden

Among the many considerations to ponder upon, when thinking of getting a tattoo is where to place it. It is always a problem where to place a tattoo whether you're inking it for the first or the nth time. There are of course several tattoo placement ideas you can look into to alleviate the problem.

Tattoos that you want to be hidden are best placed at the back of the neck, if your hair is long enough to cover it. Other suggested places would be the hips, lower back or upper thighs.

In Japan, shrines are dedicated to wolves, known as okamis or great gods to them. The Japanese seek the protection of their crops by these wolves from boars and deer. Protection may be the primary meaning wolf designs take when they are included in meaningful tattoo ideas.

Wolves are mystical creatures, essentially humans in disguise in Navajo myths. The responsibility of the wolf is the salvation of the lives of Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome, when abandoned as babies in Roman anthology. Wolves are symbols of greed and destruction in the Holy Bible.

To cut the discussion short, if you want to enjoy your tattoo on a daily basis, you have to place it in an area where you can do so. Butterflies when incorporated into meaningful tattoo ideas symbolize metamorphosis, change, rebirth and of course, beauty. Everyone knows the metamorphosis a butterfly undergoes. Before emerging as a vibrant winged insect, it starts as a colourless caterpillar encaged inside a cocoon.

However, since it's your tattoo and it's your body, the final decision if of course up to you. Your tattooist, actually, can only advise. You will just have to find a tattooist is willing to respect your decision regardless of his own beliefs.
