The Many Items That Are Added To A Bird Flue Emergency Kit

By Eric Holm

A bird flue kit is an essential item to have in the home of an every person all over the world. The time for using kits such as these are not very common as the disease is fairly rare but it is better to be prepared. Individuals are more likely to experience natural disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes rather than contract this flu. The sickness is quickly becoming a worldwide pandemic and people who travel to other different countries are known to contract it quite easily.

Recently the United Nations made it known that the flu is a real threat and in time may become bigger news than the current financial crisis affecting the world. In earlier times a disease known as the black plague swept through the lands of Europe and killed millions of people while striking fear into the hearts of the survivors and making them think witches were behind the disease. If the virus decides to mutate and turn into something that can be passed among humans instead of birds then the threat will increase dramatically.

The kits must contain certain items including a particulate respirator which provides adequate protection against contracting the disease. The masks available do not all protect against the virus so experts insist that a kit contain an N95 particulate mask at the least which is designed to filter 95 percent of airborne particles. Additional items include hand sanitizer, antiseptic and anti-microbial hand wipes when combined the items will help keep the area sanitary and hygienic.

Additional items that should be added to kits include safety goggles which are required in the event there is a defogging procedure performed in an area. Hooded coveralls which completely cover the body and will protect a person from exposure, plastic sheeting that can be used to cordon of areas and rubber gloves which are used for prevention of disease spreading. Having a strong immune system is also critical to fighting off the effects of this virus and will help to prevent sickness.

If you do not know what items to include in your avian flue emergency kits, you can click on these kits on our home page and check a variety of ready-made kits available. Always remember that even if the threat of a bird flue epidemic in the country is low, you need to prepare your body physically and emotionally for such a possibility.
