Could The Ghostbusters Utilize A Collections Agency?

By Bob Oliver

Whenever I feel bored, I usually resort to looking through my collection of horror movies. This is what I did recently. To me, it seemed like a bunch of movies were up for grabs and there were many different subgenres and moods to look to. I wanted something a bit more comedic, though, and the first "Ghostbusters" movie more than fit the bill. That being said, the Ghostbusters could have definitely benefited from a collections agency during the film and there are a couple of reasons for this.

You may not think that this can work but take into consideration how agencies, in the realm of debt collection, are able to work. They have been utilized in order to help educate people about a number of different subjects, whether it comes to student loans, credit cards, or what have you. That being said, it isn't totally out of the question for a collections agency to come into effect in this fictional world. The Ghostbusters run a business, so being paid for work done is the ultimate goal.

The very first instance in which I was able to theoretically believe in this had to do with the Ghostbusters and their first job. Basically, they had to come into the Sedgewick Hotel for the sake of bringing down a supernatural threat. Once the ghost was attained, they issued their price and the hotel owner was, to say the least, appalled. After the Ghostbusters implied that they would let the ghost out from containment in order for it to wreak havoc again, the payment was attained.

The Ghostbusters, throughout the film, are looked down upon by everyone except the public which is served. They are modern day heroes in New York City but this cannot be said for those who are in power, which is a recurring theme throughout the movie. However, this particular tune seems to change the moment that the supernatural starts to make its presence known in a much greater ways. This, in my opinion, is where the Ghostbusters are more vital to the city than they were given credit for.

Any small business is going to want to focus on the work that is done on a regular basis, which goes without saying. With such an element comes the idea of finances, though, and I'd like to think that a collections agency could come into play in this realm. It's amazing the kinds of things that you think about when you go back and watch movies you haven't seen in a while. The Ghostbusters may be looked at different from when you were a child to your adult life.
