More Nurses Choose Comfort With Compression Socks

By Ross Drue

A nurse is on her feet, more than anyone else. They are constantly walking the halls, helping doctors and patients to feel better. A lot of nurses work 12 hour long shifts, during which most of the time will be spent on the move. Isn't it time to make the nurse feel better? Compression socks for nurses, could be the key that you have been searching for because it is the easiest way to make their day a little brighter.

Doctors have used compression socks for their patients for many years. If a patient who runs developed issues with their lower legs, the doctor would immediately prescribe them this type of sock. They were popular in hospitals for patients who were confined to the bed. Compression socks for nurses allow nurses to feel the comfort that they deserve and the best part about it is that you do not need the doctors that you work for to prescribe them for you. You simply have to decide that you have suffered enough with the pain of non-stop walking.

It does not matter whether you are a man or woman. You may be a runner or an active outdoor lover. These socks are ideal for you regardless of what you want to spend your day doing. No one compression sock is better than another. Their job is to simply make your life easier so that you can do what you love to do the most. They work by helping your heart and veins keep up with your active lifestyle so that pain is no longer something that you must simply deal with during your long days.

If you put on these socks each morning, you will notice that they are tighter around the ankles and feet than on other parts of your leg. This is good because it enables them to apply compression so that you feel less pain throughout the day by ensuring that your lower extremities have all the necessary oxygen. It is a sensation that may take getting used to, but it is well worth it.

Think about gravity. If you are a nurse who is not wearing compression socks for nurses, gravity will take over. Your heart pumps out blood that is filled with oxygen. This blood travels the length of your body and deposits oxygen to your muscles. Once spent, the blood returns to the heart for more valuable oxygen. As you stand throughout the day, your veins stop returning spent blood to the heart efficiently. The muscles and veins get tired and then you will develop pain and muscle fatigue. This is not good for your body and pain will follow.

Compression socks for nurses work by gently forcing the muscles and veins to push blood back to the heart. Muscles nor veins are allowed to relax and get tired out by your constant movements and the simple fact that you must stand all day long. This will relieve pressure and pain so that even after your shift, your legs and feet are still able to take you shopping or to do other things that require you to continue standing on your feet.

When choosing to give compression socks for nurses, you are also able to pick the style that you want to wear. There are socks, tights, and sleeves available for you to choose from. There are different color variations and some have patterns on them. There are no compression socks more suitable for one type of activity over another. You simply pick the things you like and slip them on. Then, discover how great you feel at the end of your day.

Sick patients like to see a nurse that is smiling and happy about being there for them. Are you providing this for your patients come the end of your shift now or do you need the help that only compression socks for nurses can provide for you? They know when you are in pain and they may feel bad for asking you to help them through their pain. Why not make them and yourself feel a little bit better so that everyone can discover a new way to smile throughout the entire day? They'll love it.
