Getting The Professional Window Cleaning Little Rock Cleaners Offer Is Easy

By Edna Booker

Many people seem to think that windows can be cleaned with just any old rag and cleaning solution. For your home glass this can be done, simply, but the windows that are in your commercial building need more attention to detail. Some people even just spray their glass with a garden hose and call it good. That is not the slip shod work that a professional cleaner doing the window cleaning Little Rock custodial firms offer.

One of the many reasons your windows get dirty is because of people putting their hands on them. People rarely have clean hands as they wander around. The oils and grease that is normal will smudge glass badly. Some of this material will also allow the glass to be scratched. Other debris that can make your glass dirty will be blown onto them by the wind.

Construction, happening either to your structure or other work being done in the neighborhood will also deposit debris on your glass. This material, blown by the wind or transferred by workers can make your windows hard to look out of. Your home windows can get dirty from your use of the garden hose to water the plants, grass or through spraying your house down, occasionally.

There are many pieces of equipment that can be used to get the cleaner up to the level they need to get to their work. A ladder is a simple tool for ground floor work. A scissor lift, on level ground such as around a commercial building, will accomplish this and the next floor up. A boom truck, with an extendable bucket will be needed for second third and forth floors.

The windows in your high rise will need specialized gear that includes the cleaner either rappelling from the roof or using a gondola system to get down to the glass. The rappelling gear is a chair, secured through a system of ropes and chains to lower the worker to each level. The gondola is a scaffolding type platform that is lowered in a similar way with more security for the cleaner.

Regardless of what is used to get to the glass, the tools that are employed for the actual cleaning is very much the same. They use a bucket, sometimes one hanging on their hip, a wet bar with cloth cover, a window knife and the squeegee. They may actually have several different lengths of squeegee as this is the critical tool. All of the magic and the presentation of the show, to many peoples minds, happen with these items.

The window technician will use the wet bar to make the glass wet and scrub it to remove dust, dirt and other debris. They may need to use the knife to remove stuck on material, such as construction residue or window sealant from installation. The glass will then have to be made wet, again, and the squeegee is brought out. Many people like to watch what happens next and the glass cleaners get a kick out of that.

The glass has, at this point, a thin coating of water and soap solution on it. The squeegee is used to remove this solution and provide a clean, smudge free surface. One method is to simply place the tool at the top and bring it straight down, returning to the top, again. Advanced window jockeys will start at the top and, with a back and forth swirling motion, cover the entire pieces of glass in one stroke.
