In all real things, there's a hint of madness.
If there wasn't any amount of uncertainty in this life, everything would lack depth. Without a sense of depth everything is going to be a surface level examination of what's actually going on. If you stay on the surface, you aren't going to dive into the depths of your soul and find out what you are truly made of. There's a tendency these days to completely avoid going into ourselves to discover what is possible and to stay on the surface where everything is quick and easy. While convenient, this isn't where the magic lives. The magic is in living in the place where you can take a leap of faith and build your wings on the way down.
But what if negative emotions and fear crawl in? You have to embrace them.
The world we live in is full of chaos. It's a absolute mess at times and it's a miracle that we can even keep ourselves together for most of it. It feels like we are all on the verge of complete breakdown day after day because of the complexity of what we are constantly dealing with. However, when we slow down a bit to appreciate what is going on with our lives and sit in this moment, we deeply connect to what's actually going on. When we can connect with the present moment we can dive into ourselves much more easily.
Surface level foundations never work - try building a home on wallpaper.
When it all boils down to it, keeping your life on the surface level is not going to cut it when you want to do some serious development. If you really want to make some serious changes, you have to get down into the dirty and pick the weeds out yourself. Life isn't always pretty. In fact, life can be incredibly dirty and murky at times. But if you don't do the work that's necessary to heal it will always be that way for you. There will always be dark colors running through your heart.
When we dive into real things - those thoughts, emotions, experience - and they are surrounded with some uncertainty and madness, that's how we know we are exactly in the right spot. We are now in the place where there's some room for magic to happen. I keep saying magic because when you give up "knowing" things and fall into being in the unknown more and more, you allow yourself to have your socks knocked off by what life is offering you. Life is much more fun this way.
But you have to do the dirty work at the foundational level first.
So forget about the outer layers and focus on the inner layers first. Focus on building the strongest core and foundation and everything else will fall into place. Build your life on rock solid ground instead of flimsy wallpaper and everything becomes a hell of a lot easier.
Don't just live a life surviving. Live one where you thrive.
