How To Do Marble Flooring Naples FL

By Joyce Stevens

Installing marble tiles on your floor adds beauty and elegance to your home. With the myriad colors to choose from, marble flooring Naples FL can blend in with any color scheme of your room. It is because these stones emit a classic and aesthetic catch that no other stone can. It takes a great deal of work to install tiles but you can do it yourself if you are careful and patient.

Before embarking on placing the new tiles, you are supposed to put on the right gear for the job. Make sure you wear goggles, gloves and a face covering. If your floor is tiled already, you should get rid of them first. If it is ceramic, break it into smaller pieces use of a hammer but if it is made of Vinyl, you can rip it out using a pry bar.

Scrub the surface thoroughly so that it is clean and to remove any particles that will compromise its evenness. Some residents in Naples FL use ply wood so that the surface will be evenly flat. Also, make sure that the tiles that you are going to use do not have any cracks or broken.

Getting accurate measurements of the floor will help you create the perfect layout on paper with a suitable scale. Plan the installation using the dimensions of the area and the sizes of the tiles. At this point, it is good to come up with a pattern that you prefer. Using a chalk, mark grid lines on ground so that you know where the stones will fit.

Put the stones on the grid without applying any adhesive. Doing this will give you the opportunity to review the layout. It also make it possible to identify the most appropriate point to start placing the marble stones as per the shape of surface. Apply a sticker that is thick and at the same time thin enough that it will not rise on top of the stones. Use a notched trowel to do the application of the adhesive.

Place a tile within ten minutes on applying the sticker. Do this carefully without running the marble stone on the adhesive as this will make it to rise above the surface of the tile causing its surface to be rough. This renders the marble stone susceptible to breakage. As if that is not enough, you will consume a lot of time trying to remove the dried sticking film.

Next, position the marble flooring accurately using spacers. Spacers help you to have the correct and accurate spacing between the marble stones and keeps them even by maintaining straight grid lines along the rows and columns. Ensure that no single one of them rises above the others. You can do this by placing a wooden on top of the raised ones and lightly tapping downwards so that the stones are at the same level.

The last thing in your installation procedure should be to remove the excess adhesive that may have spilt out of the spacing lines. You will notice you have the excess adhesive where you had pushed a stone down using a lot of force. After that, leave the surface to dry for forty eight hours without disturbance so as to have a good finish.
