For Quality Systems For Lawn Spraying And Fertilization Martin County Is Worth Checking Out

By Jerry Roberts

Plants usually depend on the nutrients supplied by the soil for growth. However, in some cases, the nutrients may not be enough and as such, fertilizers may need to be added to the soil. Fertilizers are added to boost performance of the plants. There are several different methods that can be used to add fertilizers to plants. When in need of Lawn Spraying and Fertilization Martin County is one of the good places to go.

Fertilizer spreader is the most common tool used when applying fertilizer. There are many factors considered in order for fertilizer to be applied. For example, the size of land determines the type of spreader to be used. The nature of the plant also determines the type of equipment to be used. Financial status of the one who needs the equipment also plays a role.

Those people with small gardens are advised to use simpler means of fertilizer application like use of hands. The fertilizer can be spread randomly on the field in the case of pasture being grown. The other type of fertilizer spreading that involves the hands is the placing of pellets on the roots of the plants singly. This method is used in plants that have been planted on certain intervals.

In the case of large plantations, large spreaders are used to spread fertilizers. These spreaders are usually towed using ATVs. In these kinds of spreaders, there are large material hoppers that are positioned over spinning disks. The spinning disks are usually positioned horizontally. The disks have a series of 3-4 fins that are attached to them. The purpose of these fins is to throw the pellets of fertilizer away once they drop on them.

Apart from the spinning disks there are spreaders that have a pendulum spreading mechanism. The pendulum is commonly found in the medium sized spreaders which are often used for commercial purposes. These spreaders preferred as they ensures consistency in the spreading. Consistent application is important in farming as it reduces wastage of the fertilizers. It also ensures uniformity in application which brings about uniformity in crop performance.

Spreaders are fitted with hoppers that hold materials that are sprayed. Hoppers are made using different materials such as stainless steel, plastic and painted steel. In most cases, large commercial units normally have stainless hoppers, the reason being that, more strength is offered by stainless steel from fertilizers that are granular in size. Granular fertilizers have the highest level of corrosion effects.

When spreading to specific directions, directional fins are fitted inn some spreaders. It is the spinning disk that controls the direction of spreading materials which normally powered by many ways. For the case of those operated using hands, they are fitted with crank spin gears that turn the disk while in units that are mounted on ATVs, the wheels turn the shafts. It is in that case that the shafts rotate the gears which in turn the disk is spanned.

Some small-sized models have motors that can be used to spin the disk. The motor produces 12 volts of electricity, which operates the disk. As technology continues to advance, new methods of operating the disk are being discovered.
