A Plumber Las Vegas Will Give You The Information To Tell If There's Damage To Your Sewer Pipes

By Carlene Eriksson

You don't really think about the system of your sewer when you own a home. Most of us are just happy when the drain isn't clogged and things just go away. But as you know, things don't always work, and they often need to be repaired. Only a plumber Las Vegas can do it right, so be aware.

Since repairing the sewage line is critical for preventing the spread of illness, you should always be alert for these signs that your pipe has sustained damage that can only be fixed by your plumber.

Knowing how old your pipes are can tell you how likely they are to fail. If your pipes are cast iron, you can expect them to live up to 25 or 30 years. Watch out if they're older than that.

First signs are a slow drain or a clogged toilet with only a little bit of damage. You might smell a bad smell coming from the drain, and clogs may become more frequent. If you've gotten rid of obvious blockage and things still drain slowly, make sure to get the system checked to ensure there's no deeper problem.

Sewer pipe breaks also happen in places that you cannot always see easily. For instance, you may have one occur behind your wall. In this case, you will eventually notice moisture leaking around the area of the pipe into the room, or mold may begin to grow in places where the leak is not detected for a while such as in an unused guest bedroom. These leaks may also be accompanied by a foul odor.

When it rains it pours as they say, and such is also true with sewage systems issues. Rats and roaches can enter your home through sewer lines, so pest control might be sending you to a plumbing professional anyway. Your drains can quickly be filled with nasty pests that can fit through the smallest crack. You'll know for sure you need to get your line inspected when you see a roach in your shower, besides just being grossed out.
