Some Jamaican Charities Are Doing An Amazing Job

By Gary Green

Charity work has transformed billions of lives all over the world. In Africa, many lives have been touched by charity. In Jamaica, some Jamaican charities are doing a good job. In a world that is full of suffering and hopelessness, it is always good to extend the hand of charity and help those who are in need. People should not turn a blind eye to all the suffering that is taking place in the developing world. In some places, life is a pain to live. People are barely surviving in the slums of Jamaica.

There is a big gap between the rich and the poor. Over the last few decades, the number of billionaires has more than tripled. As the middle class is shrinking, many people who used to live descent lives are now being consigned to poverty. The problem of poverty is not only affecting Jamaica. There are millions of poor people in the United States of America.

Eliminating poverty is the number one priority of the best charity organizations in Jamaica. To effectively deal with this issue, there is the need to arrest the root causes of the problem that are lack of finance, lack of financial education and having the wrong mindset. Once the mindset is changed and one gets the necessary financial resources, poverty will surely end.

Poverty is not the only problem. Some places do not have access to water. One of the Millennium Development Goals is that everyone on planet earth should have access to clean water. Unfortunately, that is not the case. There are people who have to drink dirty water. One can find a Jamaican charity concerned with improving water supply.

Water is life. It is hard to live one full day without drinking water. It is impossible to survive for over three days without water. Another basic human need is food. The problem of hunger is a thorn in the conscience of the world. It is sad that in some places people even throw food while other individuals are sleeping hungry.

Eliminating hunger is the main goal of some charities. The situation in third world nations is very dire. There are many malnourished children in Africa, South America, and Jamaica. The good news is that there is hope. Actually, there is light at the end of the tunnel. One just has to open his eye to be able to see the light.

Most of the problems of developing countries can be solved if people in those countries get a high quality education. In some countries, the level of illiteracy is very high. It is disheartening that in the modern day world, there are still people who cannot read and write. Some non-governmental organizations are building schools and supplying books.

It is good to help others. It is better to give than to receive. The hand that gives will be blessed. Charity work is one of the best things that an individual can do. One should not ignore all the pain and suffering, all over the world. A person can contribute to a charity organization that has a great reputation.
