A Christian Publishing Company Publications

By Stephen Lewis

Inspirational writing is becoming much more prevalent that it ever has been. Writing for those interested in more uplifting works makes it very necessary to have a Christian Publishing Company to publish your work so those readers can identify where and what it is. It is beneficial to both the writer and the reader to locate where their work can be found.

Publishers of inspirational materials are involved in both fiction and nonfiction materials. Nonfiction materials include both items for reading enjoyment and for study and academic prowess. There is material that leads to serious study, for those in the clergy and religious researchers. Those who write for these two markets are very interested in the company that provides services for them. It is important to most to not be associated with certain types of publications. Religious and inspirational types should be highlighted by these companies.

Both fiction and nonfiction can have a focus on either strictly inspirational or Christian. The Language and content must be acceptable, not being an embarrassment or less than desirable. Language must be suitable for age 13 or so, and not have any curse words or explicitly sexual content. This doesn't indicate childish language but just appropriate for that age.

All fiction should be inspirational and/or religious based. The theme or story line should teach a Christian principle. There should be a lesson for the reader, without being "preachy." To find a theme, the writer needs to think about something that is of interest to those currently. The characters should both, hero/heroine and protagonist, should both have a part in teaching and learning the lesson.

Much of fiction in the inspirational realm is romance, but not necessarily all. Even with romance, there may be another aspect, such as historical, comedy, or suspenseful. But, the main underlying focus should be the romance, boy meets girl and falls in love. In some cases there may be a LGBT focus, but not all companies accept this. If you are not sure, it is best to just omit it.

Nonfiction books can have several different purposes. For academics, or clergy, the nonfiction work must teach something that is important to the person. Most of the time, these works are meant to teach an aspect that may not be known or understood by the reader. It requires an in-depth explanation of the concept.

Another purpose for nonfiction material is to teach a practical or personal concept. Instead of an academic lesson, the idea is usually of an inspirational and personal concept. The author strives to try to change the actions of the person reading the work to endorse the idea. For example, a habit may be changed with the information addressed. There is an attempt to make a change in the person' life.

Memoirs and historical works are another purpose for nonfiction. Though they are mainly to impart information, there is often great enjoyment. Memoirs are somewhat historical as they let a person discover something about the author. Historical works, though designed to impart information, are often entertaining as well, especially for those who enjoy history. All writing is somewhat for entertainment, regardless of type.
