Improve Sales With Name Tags For Employees

By Brenda Foster

These days, there are many ways to drive sales. Right now, companies of all sizes are navigating their way around digital marketing techniques and social media profiles. While this may be the tool to increase sales or improve engagement, those with a brick and mortar operation need to consider the basics. For instance, name tags for employees are best when it comes to positive customer interaction.

Even if a person has a small operation, this small investment goes a long way and can play a large role in their marketing. For one, no one wants to be addressed as sir, madam, or hey. Sharing a first name invites customers to ask questions and possibly close a sale with the help of productive rapport given by the employee who assisted them.

Marketing research companies are making a tidy amount of money by offering quality assessments services to businesses and franchise operations. Headquarters may do this to ensure uniformity in a work environment but this service is mostly used to improve customer relations. While employee interaction is one focal point, silent selling basics like signage display or arrangement of products are also considered.

While the agent or shopper can give a physical description when visiting a business, sometimes this is not enough. This is especially true in cases where the employee is delivering exceptional service or has a few areas in need of improvement. In some communities, it is common for people to have similar features or very few characteristics that would easily separate them in a certain demographic.

Businesses who are active on social media may overlook one area that can either increase sales or make people hesitant to visit. Consumer review sites are very detailed, as posters can upload images to support any claims made, whether they are good or bad. Although the management can reach out directly to those who post a negative comment to resolve the issue, they cannot alter reviews directly.

Review sites give the greatest incentive for staff to deliver the best customer service possible. Even though some people will use these to rant, customers are more than happy to mention someone that has given them exceptional customer service. When someone sees their name attached to a positive review, it can do a lot for the company as well as employee morale.

Even if inspections are done within a company, it helps to know names at all times. One thing that has changed greatly in recent are immigrants who may have a lengthy or hard to pronounce the first name. Giving them a badge with a shortened version or nickname makes communication easier for all who may come in contact with the individual.

Identification badges are also great to have for those who work outside events that represent an organization. Most people tend to think that presenting a business card with their elevator pitch is sufficient for the initial contact. However, wearing a name badge is more likely to draw in a prospect so a dialogue can begin.
