For Sponge Blasting OH Is Worth Visiting

By Jessica Ward

Offices, industries, and residences have many types of surfaces that need to be cleaned and maintained hygienic. The nature of these surfaces varies. As such, they should be cleaned using different methods of cleaning. It is for this reason that over time, a number of distinct cleaning technologies have been developed. Specifically, abrasive blasting method is versatile. It has been used to a large extent in industrial and commercial cleaning settings. When one needs Sponge blasting OH offers the perfect location to visit.

Abrasive blasting ensures use of different media for cleaning. These include steel shot, chemicals, sponge, and dry ice among others. That is the reason why it is necessary to know the nature of dirt and surface which require to be cleaned before one selects an abrasive media.

If one does not select the abrasive media carefully, they may end up ruining the surface beyond repair. In fact, even after selecting an abrasive media to use, it is important to test it on a small part of the surface before applying it unreservedly. Patch testing is important so as to determine the effects of the abrasive on the surface in question.

The use of sponge blasting is one of the most commonly used method in industrial cleaning of various surfaces. This method is very suitable for the removal of organic paint coatings and other kinds of contaminants. It can be applied on a wide range of surfaces such as metals, wood, plastic, concrete, glass, and other composite surfaces. The level of efficiency that this method presents makes it very useful and preferable.

In a variety of instances, this method is very appropriate for use. For example, it is very useful in places where other blasting methods have become outlawed. Cleaning methods can become outlawed because of some negative effects and pollution which they cause to the environment. Dry abrasives on the other hand cause airborne dust which may be unsuitable in some instances.

Sponge blasting is an abrasive cleaning technique that uses urethane sponge granules. These granules are usually embedded together with many other types and grades of abrasive particles when in use. In some instances, mineral fillers that are not abrasive are incorporated in the granules. There have been many inventions and patents applied for sponge media types by various manufacturers with the intention of protecting the inventions from misuse.

The blasting process begins with the user pouring the abrasive materials into a holding unit. From there, the abrasive is fed into a pumping unit that contains rotating auger screw. Inside this unit, the media is mixed with a high pressure air stream, which carries it through a hose into a blast nozzle. When the media emerges from the blast nozzle, it is usually travelling at a speed of between 30 and 100 meters per second.

There are varying sizes of the feed unit. Nonetheless, industrial applications normally have a capacity ranging between 85 and 240 liters. A compressor feeds the feeder air that can pump the needed amount of air in a minute. Normally, the media packs between 1 and 3.4 bar of force when coming from the nozzle.
